RMS St.Helena passing under Tower Bridge en route from Tilbury to HMS Belfast on 7th June 2016.She is the last ocean going vessel to carry RMS in other than honorary title.

RMS St.Helena said goodbye to the UK as its last ocean going Royal Mail Ship in the pouring rain at Tilbury on 14th June 2016.It was given a suitable send off with fire tugs,siren and even canon.

For part of the year the ship would travel as World Odyssey transporting "Semester at Sea" students; and for the other part of the year it would be chartered to the German cruise company Phoenix Reisen, sailing under its traditoinal MS Deutschland name. For this period the ship would carry two names, one for winter, other for summer
