Locomotive Services Ltd (LSL) have resurrected the Blue Pullman using a HST set repainting and refurbishing ex EMR Class 43 VP185 engined HST power cars 43055 & 43046 and 9 ex EMR & GWR Mk3 coaches. It is seen on 12th June 2021 approaching thingley Junc. near Chippenham with a Bristol to Carlisle excursion running 1 Hr late. Power Car 43055 is leading.

In January 2012, Direct Rail Services announced that it had ordered a total of 15 new diesel locomotives from Vossloh España (now Stadler Rail). These locomotives, which entered service in the UK as Class 68, were part of Vossloh's Eurolight family, redesigned to fit the smaller UK loading gauge. In September 2013, DRS announced that it was procuring a further ten locomotives. Unlike the Class 68s, these new units would be electro-diesel locomotives, capable of operating either via OHLE, or by using an onboard diesel engine. However, the new locomotives would feature the same bodyshell, cab, brakes, bogies, traction equipment and control software as the Class 68.The new locomotives were announced as being Class 88.No.88009 Diana is seen on diesel power running light engine through Doncaster on 18th July 2018.

So B.R. Mk1 No.4779 on a dining special used as a dining car marshalled next to the kitchen car.This coach was built in 1957 and allocated an M prefix.This vehicle went to the East Anglian Transport Museum.

Class 30 No.37075 and Class 73 No.73138 entering on a dining train at Cheddleton.37075 is now (Jan 2018) on the Keighley and Worth Valley and 73138 is in Yellow livery and is owned by Network Rail at Derby.

Kitchen Car No.80030 in a dining special.This coach was built in 1963 and allocated an M prefix.It is the only BR Mk1 Kitchen Car preserved complete.
